Terms and Conditions

All membership, national affiliation, late and reinstatement fees must be paid in full and are non-refundable. Partial refunds are not given for mid-term membership cancellations or changes to membership type.

Practicing Membership

Purchase Date: January 1st to June 30th ---- $305 + GST

Purchase Date: July 1st to December 31st* ---- $175 + GST

Non-Practicing Membership

Purchase Date: January 1st to June 30th ---- $185 + GST

Purchase Date: July 1st to December 31st* ---- $105 + GST

Academic Membership

Purchase Date: January 1st to December 31st* ---- $30 + GST (No short-rate fee available)

*Note: Memberships initiated during the membership renewal period (November 15th to December 31st) pay only the applicable membership fee for the following year; there is no additional fee for the time remaining in the current year.

Canadian Kinesiology Alliance (CKA) - National Affiliation Fee (NAF)

Required for all Practicing and Non-Practicing Members

Purchase Date: January 1st to June 30th ---- $45 + GST

Purchase Date: July 1st to December 31st ---- $25.50 + GST

Membership Type Change Fees

Members are able to change from Practicing to Non-Practicing (or vice versa) membership types once per year at no additional cost. Please note that you can only complete that change once during the annual membership renewal period - the system will not allow more than one change. Any subsequent changes must be requested in the new year (after January 1st). Members are limited to a maximum of 2 membership type changes per membership year.

Within the renewal period (November 15th - December 31st):

First membership type change = no charge

*If a member has already renewed their membership for the following membership year during renewal period, they are only eligible for one membership type change, at no additional cost. Any subsequent membership type changes will have to be requested after January 1st and will incur additional costs (see fees outlined below)

Outside of the renewal period (January 1st - November 14th):

First membership type change = $15 +GST
Second membership type change = $100 +GST

Membership type changes need to be carefully considered - they are not intended to be a 'back and forth' type of change - it is for when your work circumstances change (e.g. you change from working with clients in clinical or community based healthcare settings as a practicing kinesiologist to working in a management or other role where you do not provide direct client care services - or vice versa).

Late Renewal Fee

$100 + GST (In addition to the applicable membership fee)
Applies to Practicing and Non-Practicing Memberships which are renewed between January 1st and January 31st of the current membership year. Membership becomes "not in good standing" after December 31st.

Membership Reinstatement Fee

$200 + GST (In addition to the applicable membership fee)
Applies to Practicing and Non-Practicing Memberships which are not renewed by the end of the late renewal period (Jan 31st).
Reinstatement is available up to 36 months (3 years) after last being a member in good standing with the BCAK.
