What is a Kinesiologist?

Kinesiologists are Human Movement Specialists who apply scientific, evidence-informed approaches to improve physical function and overall health in a variety of client care environments - primary, secondary, and tertiary.

Kinesiologists work closely with clients to:

  • Enhance physical performance and functional abilities.
  • Promote healthy lifestyle choices related to physical activity, recovery, nutrition, and disease prevention.
  • Support success in work, recreation, and daily life through task analysis, exercise prescription, ergonomic assessments, and built design solutions.
  • Improve mental well-being through wellness coaching and personalized physical activity plans.

Kinesiologists collaborate with other allied health professionals in interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary healthcare settings to deliver rehabilitation and wellness services.
