PHILOSOPHY ON TREATMENT
When treating my clients I believe in creating individualized treatment plans that will help them reach their optimal level of function; whether it’s to be able to execute the physical demands of their job, getting them back to their recreational activities or preparing them for athletic competitions. I strive to facilitate a learning environment to help clients understand their own bodies and how it moves so that they can apply that knowledge to perform their everyday living activities more effectively.

I BECAME A KINESIOLOGIST BECAUSE
through my athletic career as an elite volleyball athlete, I was hindered by injuries that affected my physical and mental performance. As a result, I enrolled in the Kinesiology program at UBC to develop a better understanding of human body and function, and know how to prevent and rehabilitate injuries. This led me to cultivate an immense interest in the biomechanics of human movement as well as a passion for coaching. From that, a desire emerged to combine both and help others achieve their training and rehab goals.

WHAT I BRING TO THE FLOOR
I have over 5 years of experience as a Kinesiologist working primarily with individuals with an ICBC claim number who have sustained injuries from motor a vehicle accident. The most common injuries that I have treated include whiplash, concussion, lower back, shoulder, knee, and ankle. Additionally, I have helped many people with chronic pain, sport related injuries, and individuals looking to improve their overall health and wellness. I am experienced in fitting custom knee braces for people with mild-severe osteoarthritis and ligament injuries such as ACL, MCL, and PCL injuries. I also specialize in rehabilitating volleyball related injuries, as well as providing strength and conditioning exercise plans specific to improving performance and preventing injuries for volleyball athletes. I currently volunteer as a coach for the Ducks Volleyball Club, helping youth athletes achieve their individual and team performance goals.

A LITTLE BACK STORY
I was born in Comox on Vancouver Island but raised in the Tri-Cities where I competed in a number of sports. I eventually narrowed my focus to beach and indoor volleyball which led me to represent Canada at the 19U Beach Volleyball Worlds and to join the varsity volleyball team at UBCO. I always strived to achieve my optimal level of performance as an athlete, but since retiring from volleyball, I have diverted my focus into helping others achieve their optimal level of performance with respect to their own health and wellness goals.
