If you were previously a Professional Member of the BCAK and wish to rejoin, there are two pathways available depending on how long it has been since your last active membership.
1. Reinstatement (Less Than 3 Years Since Membership Lapsed)
If your professional membership has lapsed within the last 3 years, you may reinstate your membership.
- Visit the Reinstating Your BCAK Membership page for full details.
- You will need to have a valid Criminal Record Clearance (CRC) Letter for working with children and vulnerable adults that meets the requirements of the Criminal Record Review Act (CRRA). Note: you can check with the BCAK office to see if you have a valid CRC still on your file. If not, you will need to complete a new CRC request. Learn more about the process on our Criminal Record Check Requirements page.
- You will also need to provide proof of CPD credit completion for the period of time that your membership lapsed (the requirement is 20 CPD credits per year from the last year that you submitted credits).
2. Reapplication (More Than 3 Years Since Membership Lapsed)
If it has been 3 years or more since you were a professional member in good standing, you will need to apply as a new member.
- Review the current requirements on our Professional Membership page.
- Once ready, go to the Application Pathways page to select the appropriate pathway and follow the submission instructions.
Note: Membership requirements have likely changed since your original application. Please review all updated criteria carefully.
