MELISSA IS A PRACTICING KINESIOLOGIST AT PHYSIO COLLECTIVE. SHE GRADUATED FROM BOTH DOUGLAS COLLEGE AND SIMON FRASER UNIVERSITY WITH A SPORT SCIENCE DIPLOMA, A CERTIFICATE IN HEALTH AND FITNESS, AND A BACHELOR OF SCIENCE WITH A MAJOR IN KINESIOLOGY. MELISSA HAS TRAINING IN SOFT TISSUE RELEASE, MUSCULOSKELETAL AND POSTURAL ASSESSMENT, ADVANCED EXERCISE PRESCRIPTION, SHOULDER AND HIP MOBILIZATION, MYOFASCIAL RELEASE, CONCUSSION MANAGEMENT, AND KINESIOLOGY TAPING. SHE SPECIALIZES IN REHABILITATION FROM MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS AND SPORTS INJURIES AS WELL AS RETURN-TO-WORK PROGRAMS.
MELISSA ALSO HAS EXPERIENCE AS A SPORTS TRAINER FOR MEN'S PREMIER LEAGUE SOCCER TEAMS AND MEN'S LACROSSE TEAMS. MELISSA IS AN ADVOCATE FOR AN ACTIVE AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE – SHE ENGAGES IN SPORTS SUCH AS SOCCER, TENNIS, CYCLING, SNOWBOARDING, HIKING, KAYAKING, ROCK CLIMBING, RUNNING, AND WEIGHT TRAINING. SHE HAS VOLUNTEERED AT HIGH LEVEL SPORT CONDITIONING FACILITIES AND SEEKS TO ENHANCE HER KNOWLEDGE ABOUT INJURY MANAGEMENT AND REHABILITATION.
