Brian is a full time tenured Kinesiology Instructor at the University of the Fraser Valley in Abbotsford and Chilliwack BC. He earned his Masters and Bachelor degrees from the University of British Columbia. Brian’s areas of concentration are exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, injury management, and exercise testing and prescription. He is a Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) through CSEP. Additionally, Brian is a BCAK Practicing Kinesiologist, a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, CSEP- Certified Personal Trainer, CHEK Practitioner Level 2: Integrative Health Coach, Functional Movement Screen Level 1 Specialist, Essential Somatics - Somatic Exercise Coach level 1, and NASM Performance Enhancement and Corrective Exercise Specialist, Champion's Performance Specialist, Precision Nutrition Level 1 Nutrition Coach, and a Level 2 Applied Health and Human Performance Specialist. He is also a course conductor and examiner for the CSEP CPT and CEP National Certifications, CFES Fitness Knowledge, Weight Training, and Personal Trainer modules, and is also an ACE faculty member. Brian completed 4 advanced modules of Clinical Somatic training in the Essential Somatics Clinical Somatics Educator Program and 2 modules of Neurokinetic Therapy.
Brian’s clientele has ranged from post-rehabilitation to national level athletes and everything in between. Besides teaching students and training clients, he currently authors manuals and articles. He has contributed to four chapters in Human Kinetics Publisher’s book Foundations of Professional Personal Training and three chapters in the 2nd edition of this book. Brian has also contributed one chapter on Functional Fitness in the Human Kinetics Textbook Physical and Health Education in Canada.
Brian is passionate about spreading the word on the benefits of physical activity for health, performance, and injury prevention.
