Throughout my degree, I excelled in applicable courses including functional anatomy, injury prevention and rehabilitation, and strength and conditioning. The knowledge I’ve learned in those classes, coupled with my extensive work experience allows me to provide the best possible care to clients.
My professional experience reflects the required technical and interpersonal experience for this role. For example, in my current role as the Return-to-Work Coordinator for Island Hand Therapy, I document patient conditions and design curated return-to-work plans for clients. I am responsible for building rapport with patients, contacting employers, facilitating contact with Worker’s Compensation Board (WCB) case managers, gathering injury information from the WCB Provider Portal, conducting job site visits, and compiling relevant information into personalized return-to-work plans.
In addition to my academic qualifications and professional experience, I bring strong interpersonal skills that allow me to quickly connect with individuals and establish trusting relationships. This has significantly benefitted the clients and enriched my experience working with people. I also believe that my professional communication and collaboration skills make me well-suited for challenging positions.
