Shelby has a BSc in Kinesiology from UVic, is a member of the British Columbia Kinesiology Association and is an NCCP-certified coach.
He uses a data-based approach to training, and creates individualized plans using athlete’s unique thresholds. Using tools such as interval training and heart rate variability, he helps athletes maximize their potential.
Shelby has an in-depth understanding of the science of human performance and the rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Using his formal training, he loves working with people to define and achieve their athletic goals.
Shelby is also a seasoned competitive athlete, having competed at Ironman multiple times, ITU Multisport World Championships and numerous half-iron/standard distance triathlons. He also enjoys cycling or running races from time to time, especially if they involve a visit to the Okanagan Valley.
